You have claimed your pension through the alternating work-retirement program: you can use our calculator to estimate your CRPN pension from your date of full retirement from air crew employment.
To help you estimate your pension entitlement, we have updated our calculator to incorporate the new rules which take account of the number of pension days you have been paid through the alternating work-retirement program.
To perform an estimation, please go to the “Estimate my pension” section of your personal account.
How the estimation works
Our calculator uses the career information we already have as well as information on your future career (career forecast) which we will need you to outline for us.
Why our calculator has been updated
We have updated our pension calculator in order to incorporate the new rules for calculating the percentage assigned to each of the 2 portions of your entitlements: the portion claimed through the alternating work-retirement program and the remaining portion of your entitlements, which you will claim when you enter full retirement.
This percentage is determined by the number of pension days you have been paid between the date of your partial claim through the alternating work-retirement program and your date of full retirement.
For estimation purposes, the “days off work” you enter are assumed to be paid pension days when determining your percentages.
Why use our calculator
You can use our calculator to forecast your future career, including your days off work through the alternating work-retirement program, and use this information to get the closest possible estimate of your future pension amount.
You can enter the following information for each forecast year:
- A number of days off work,
- And a pay raise percentage.
Your estimation results
Our estimator:
- Calculates your notional gross monthly entitlements (pension, top-up, and bonus, whether or not you are actually entitled to all of these components),
- And specifies the eligibility requirements that will apply on your date of full retirement for each of your forecasts.
When you enter full retirement, CRPN will need to receive your application to claim the entitlements not claimed through the alternating work-retirement program by the end of the month in which your air crew employment contract was terminated.
You can apply to claim your pension either through the “Online requests and applications” section of your personal account, or by standard mail.
To learn more about your pension and its components, please refer to our informational guide entitled Retiring through the alternating work-retirement program (on or after January 1st, 2019).
